Superhumans Center is a medical nonprofit project, that creates a state or the art hospital in Lviv, Ukraine, offering prosthetics, facial reconstruction and PTSD treatment to Ukrainians, injured because of the war.
To date more than 8000 Ukrainian civilians that we know of have been seriously injured
due to russian missile strikes, mines and the atrocities of the russian army. Many of them are women and children.
Women for Ukraine has partnered with Superhumans Center to introduce their project to the European Wound Management Association. By facilitating communication between Superhumans Center and EWMA, we assisted in securing an invitation for Superhumans Center to speak at the EWMA Conference in Milan on May 3-5, 2023.
Superhumans Center representatives had the opportunity to present their groundbreaking project to over 5000 European experts in wound management. They also gained valuable knowledge from the conference and were able to network with many professionals in the field, including surgeons, dermatologists, and rehabilitation experts.
Women for Ukraine continues to work closely with European Wound Management
Association to share their expertise with Ukrainian experts in wound management, which is critical during times of war. We are thrilled to be a part of this partnership and look forward to more exciting collaborations in the future.
Did you know that a child’s brain is incredibly flexible? Even after experiencing severe
trauma, including PTSD, with the proper psychological support, these resilient children
have the power to reclaim their lives and build a normal, thriving future.
Gen.Ukrainian unites compassionate people with the common goal of making a difference in the lives of Ukrainian children. They aim to help and support young people who have endured war’s devastating effects. Among these children are those who have lost their parents, have seen the destruction of their homes, and have experienced being held captive and deprived of basic necessities for extended periods.
We believe that our collective support can help them rewrite their stories and create a hopeful future.
Our partnership with Gen.Ukrainian will create opportunities for us to collaborate on
fundraising efforts in Denmark that directly impact the mental well-being of Ukrainian
children.
We have most recently contributed 100,000 DKK to Gen Ukrainian and are actively
working on securing more donations for this project as well as facilitating study grants in Denmark for children that have been a part of the Gen Ukrainian programme.
As the founder and owner of Neuromuscular Workout, Malou Deichmann is a recognized expert in the human neuromuscular system. Throughout her two-decade-long career, Malou has worked in the field of rehabilitation and possesses experience working with NATO soldiers, helping them recover after amputations.
Malou’s relations with the Superhumans Center run deep. Women for Ukraine connected Malou and the center back when it was in the very initial stage. Malou had witnessed the center’s creation, first visiting it when it was still under construction. This state-of-the-art center is dedicated to every aspect of helping Ukrainians injured by war. From engineering cutting-edge prosthetics to fitting and training people to regain strength, the Superhumans Center is at the forefront of rehabilitation.
Malou spent one week in the center in June, working closely with injured people on their
rehabilitation journeys. She dedicated her time to providing physical therapy, guidance,
and assisting in recovery and rehabilitation. Malou also provided training to the
rehabilitation staff so they could continue what she had started. Her expertise was
invaluable in helping wounded people regain their strength, mobility, and also confidence.
We are happy to announce that Kryvyi Rih’s Perinatal Center now has this advanced
incubator, thanks to the generous support of Christen and Katarina H. Nielsen, a Danish
family. Women for Ukraine played a role in facilitating this donation.
Recognizing the shortage of incubators for neonatal care in Ukraine, Nielsen’s family wanted to make a difference after learning about the increase in premature births during the war.
This initiative aligns with the efforts led by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, to
supply Ukrainian hospitals with incubators. Women for Ukraine has provided incubators to hospitals before in support of women and children affected by the war.
Together, we are united in our commitment to support Ukraine, save lives, and ensure a
brighter future for these precious little ones.
In July 2023, a transformative retreat in Oriv village in western Ukraine brought support
and strength to Ukrainian women who lost husbands and sons to the war against Russian aggression in Ukraine. Organized by «Keep Living» project with the support from Women for Ukraine, this healing retreat combines physical and emotional renewal.
Set in the serene surroundings, participants found a safe space to unburden grief and
connect. Welcoming accommodations and kind staff formed a space of solace. Beyond relaxation, the retreat embraced inner healing through holistic treatments, focusing also on psychological restoration. Outcomes were great; women experienced transformations and found resilience.
“Keep Living” Project is led by Oksana Hankevich, who lost her husband to the war. The
“Keep Living” project is her resilience in action. From her healing journey emerged a
support system for women like herself. This community thrives on the belief that life
continues even after loss, transforming pain into purpose.
The phrase “Ej blot til lyst” etched above the stage of the Copenhagen Royal Theater
holds deep meaning: “Not just for pleasure.” These words capture the essence of theater, surpassing mere entertainment. Art serves as the embodiment of culture, transforming intangible spirit into tangible form that touches our souls. Without art, there is no culture, and without culture, there is no nation.
Women for Ukraine facilitated the mesmerizing Ukrainian performance at the Royal Danish Theater on May 24-25, 2023. Over 130 exceptional Ukrainian artists, representing the finest in Ukrainian opera and ballet, undertook a 2000 km bus journey from Kyiv to
Copenhagen. Their objective was to showcase the beauty of Ukrainian culture and
demonstrate that, despite the war, our culture remains strong.
All concert proceeds are donated to Olena Zelenska Foundation, with the First Lady
delivering an emotional video address during the evening. She emphasized, “This is what my country defends now – the right for all people in the world to listen to music instead of cannons, the right to live freely.”
